Who we are
An independent, open tracker that answers one question for the people of Europe's EU-candidate countries: when will we be in the EU? It is not affiliated with the European Union or any candidate government. Estimates are modeled projections, not guarantees. Facts and estimates are kept separate, and the model and its assumptions are open to inspection on each country's Forecast page.
How we work
Facts and estimates are kept structurally separate. A date is never presented as a fact — every projection is shown as a range with its assumptions open.
Every status claim is sourced to a primary document (the European Commission, the Council, Eurostat), and you can click through to it.
The site detects its own staleness: if the data hasn't been re-verified recently, it says so rather than looking confident.
Setbacks are tracked as rigorously as wins. An estimate moving later is reported as plainly as one moving earlier.
